KALORAMA Madrid culminates its first edition with a great reception from the public

Performances by Sam Smith, Massive Attack and Peggy Gou close the three-day music celebration that brought together a total of 41,500 attendees at IFEMA

The premiere of KALORAMA Madrid has been a groundbreaking closing of the month of August for lovers of high-level music, offering hours of fun and dancing. The landing at the IFEMA Madrid site of the international festival, which was held simultaneously in Lisbon, shows a very positive balance that translates into a total attendance of 41,500 people, with Saturday being the most crowded day.

The closing day, August 31, was capped off with a closing day that kicked off with emerging urban artist Huda rapping raw and accurate verses. Then, the New Yorkers Monobloc gave an effervescent punk touch to stir up the spirits that were triggered by the unbridled joy unleashed by the band Ezra Collective with their UK Jazz. Olivia Dean’s soulful experimentation intoxicated the audience in an elegant way before the iconic Massive Attack unleashed their trip-hop sound with a vindictive live performance in the purest Bristol style. The funk came in the form of the lively Jungle, who instantly connected with their party attitude. Sam Smith’s iconoclastic show left no one indifferent with his personality, charisma and unique voice. A bacchanal of house and techno sound was the ideal closure in charge of Peggy Gou who distributed sympathy and sass from the booth.

It has been 3 days of festival where Madrid has been able to enjoy 34 concerts, with excellent sound quality and a diversity of musical styles that has attracted audiences of all ages, concentrating 74% between 25 and 44 years. In addition to those already mentioned, the three stages of the event have paraded names and musical styles as eclectic as LCD Soundsytem, Prodigy, The Postal Service, Death Cub For Cutie, Overmono, Olivia Dean, Folamour, Colectivo da Silva, Tristan!, Huda and the electronic music of the best groups of the capital.

A festival that has also shown a strong commitment to social issues and environmental causes. All this through BALORE, which had several points of attention such as the Violet Point for the prevention and reporting of situations of harassment and sexist violence, the Rainbow Point for information, awareness and visibility of the LGBT+ community, and the Green Point for the reduction of the carbon footprint, among others.

The organization of KALORAMA Madrid is especially grateful for the support of the Community of Madrid which, together with the sponsors and other collaborating institutions, have made possible the celebration of an event that has left its own mark and identity.
